Student wellbeing is fundamental to successful learning. At St Peter Chanel School we recognise that students are more likely to engage fully with their learning when their social, emotional, spiritual and physical wellbeing is healthy and when they possess a strong sense of worth.
We believe that students who are happy, confident and able to establish meaningful relationships with their peers, school, family and community are better placed to achieve positive learning outcomes.
We strive to create an optimal learning environment where every student feels safe and supported and where all students learn to be responsible for their actions.
At St Peter Chanel we have implemented a whole school approach to the promotion of wellbeing and we provide explicit programs and implicit learning opportunities to enhance student wellbeing and to meet the individual needs of our students including:
- Community Wellbeing Leader
- Behaviour Management
- Buddy Program
- Peer Mediation
- Cybersafety Education
- Young Leaders Program
At St Peter Chanel School we strive to create an inclusive environment where all students and families feel welcomed. We recognise that students with a disability have the same needs, hopes and rights as other students and young people.
We work in partnership with families and support agencies to provide a coordinated approach encompassing the individual needs of all students, including those with learning disabilities, highly able students and children with student welfare needs.
At St Peter Chanel we provide specific staffing, resources and programs to meet the individual needs of all students and their families including:
